  1. Thank you Lynne for providing this information. What a mess. If Council provides this six storey development and much extra accommodation, does that mean the Council won’t have to develop any other land grabs to meet State govt housing requirements?

    1. The Akuna Street project could add new apartments to Kiama, but it won’t replace Council’s wider housing responsibilities. State targets cover the whole LGA, not just one site, so Council will still need to plan for growth elsewhere.With Kiama’s high prices, there’s a risk these units won’t ease local housing stress but instead attract buyers with deeper pockets.
