Empowering Sustainable and Just Futures

Welcome to Clover Hill Diaries

I am a community advocate, storyteller and lifelong collaborator with a deep commitment to strengthening local democracy and amplifying regional voices. With roots in farming and decades of experience leading national initiatives like Action4Agriulture, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering the next generation and creating platforms where people feel seen, heard and valued. I believe in courage, kindness and the power of communities working together to shape their own future. These days, you’ll find me diving deep into the role of local media and civic engagement—pursuing a Churchill Fellowship to explore how regional communities around the world are reclaiming their voice.

“I believe in the power of informed, inclusive, and compassionate leadership that prioritises the well-being of all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. My political views are rooted in a deep commitment to social justice, equity, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive. I unapologetically share these views because I have seen firsthand the impact that thoughtful, community-focused policies can have on creating a more just and sustainable society. I am driven by the conviction that we must all play a role in shaping a future that is fair, inclusive, and resilient, and I refuse to stay silent in the face of injustice or inequality.”

The Mission: Creating Regional Communities of Practice

Fostering Local Networks for Environmental and Social Justice

To do this I have created the consultancy SynergyScape Solutions . Our Communities of Practice (CoP model aims to nurture robust local community networks, creating a supportive environment where ideas and initiatives for both environmental sustainability and social justice can flourish.

Supporting Collective Action for a Just World

At SynergyScape Solutions we believe in the power of collective effort in addressing environmental challenges and advancing social justice. Our CoPs encourage groups to unite in their efforts, pooling resources and energy for effective and equitable solutions.

Providing Training and Mentorship in Sustainability and Equity

Essential to the approach is offering training and mentorship, dedicated to equipping participants with the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders in creating sustainable and socially just communities.

The Approach: Impactful, Community-Oriented Solutions

Building Trust through Collaborative and Equitable Efforts

At the heart of our CoPs is the principle of trust, respect, and equity. By working together transparently and inclusively, we lay the groundwork for meaningful change in both environmental and social realms.

Setting Clear, Credible Goals for Sustainable and Just Futures

Our initiatives are guided by well-defined and achievable objectives that encompass both environmental sustainability and social justice. These goals provide direction and purpose, ensuring focused and impactful efforts.

Empowering Individuals for Environmental and Social Change

We empower individuals to lead in creating solutions that are not just sustainable but also equitable. Our CoPs are about fostering leadership, innovation, and justice in addressing today’s complex challenges.

About Me

My name is Lynne Strong. I am a sixth-generation dairy farmer, and my journey has evolved from traditional farming to a deep commitment to social and environmental justice. When I started my blog 14 years ago, my aim was to share farming stories from Clover Hill Dairies. Over the years, my focus has shifted to championing broader issues that impact our world.

Now and in the Future

While I still live on the farm, I am no longer involved in its day-to-day running. However, I am fiercely committed to the development of sustainable and just communities. I see myself as a catalyst for change and a connector. I want to inspire and engage young leaders so they can be changemakers themselves.

To achieve this, initially I identified a team of people with a shared vision and set up the Not-for-Profit organisation Action for Agriculture. For the past 15 years, the A4A team has been designing and delivering programs that connect farmers and the community through partnerships between young people.

Working on the ethos of collective action for collective impact, our partnerships between young farmers and young people living in urban landscapes use education, art, and technology to encourage courageous two-way conversations about how we can achieve the best outcomes for farmers, consumers, and the planet.

Today I am supporting a movement of young people to be Champions4Change ( see our blog here)

To do this I have set up the consultancy SynergyScape Solutions. At SynergyScape Solutions  we believe in a future where education transcends traditional learning methods. Our mission is to equip young learners with the skills to think creatively, act sustainably, and participate effectively in a rapidly evolving global society..

Why Write a Blog

Writing a blog is a great way to open the door to our communities, share our ups and downs, the frustrations and challenges, the passion and commitment, but most of all, show the community that their faith in our efforts towards social and environmental justice is warranted.

I am writing this blog to join other inspiring leaders who are working towards sustainable and just futures. To help show them the community does care about these issues and that they want to hear our stories, concerns, and solutions.

I am living on the lands of the Dharawal people. Conflict, environmental changes and land grants resulted in displacement of our Aboriginal communities and the loss of traditional homelands. The cedar-getters were the first to come to the region and were followed by white settlers and their animals. As land was cleared and towns settled, the Aboriginal families lost their communities, their independence and often their lives. #AlwaysWas #AlwaysWillBe

  1. Did not know that RABO-Bank (Dutch) is also active in Australia. The abbreviation RABO stands in farmers-circles in Holland for ‘Ruimt Alle Boeren Op’ (getting rid of all farmers). That’s the joke that went around when, through scale enlarging in the sixties and seventies, most Dutch farmers had to end their business. Anyway I went through your blog and I like it very much!!! May I also bring under your attention the blog I do for a local farmer with a farm restaurant? http://stanfordharvest.wordpress.com Think it’s important for farmers to know how and what others in other countries are doing!

  3. Hi Lynne, my name is Ruben Zandman and I work for a processor, I’m interested in talking to you about your views on milk frothing, how can I contact you direct?

  4. Lynne, we need to talk. We are like minded and I’m embarking on a project and studies that contribute to your cause. I need your email to send you my project outline. I live in Berrima , NSW, so am close and have probably driven past your farm heaps of times going to the beach. Further more, providentially, I am distantly related to your Champion, Andrew D’Arcy, as I am also from the same D’Arcy family who migrated from Ireland – just a different sibling.
